PLACE: CULTURAL ROOM ADMISSION: 15 Francs (Under 18 and students: 10 Francs)

During the masterclass on Friday 24 September 2021, Federico Toledano will firstly discuss the different techniques specific to the flamenco guitar and, secondly, certain palos, in order to better understand the compas and their harmonies. To illustrate the rhythmic part of the examples he will use the support of percussionist Ángel Sánchez Cepillo.

Musicians from all walks of life are welcome.

During his many trips to Andalusia, where his family is originally from, the flamenco guitarist Federico Toledano has perfected his skills with guitarists such as Gerardo Nuñez, Manolo Sanlúcar and Juan Manuel Cañizares. Today he offers a varied repertoire where tradition and personal compositions alternate in the different palos as well as a repertoire mixing jazz flamenco standards and festive rumbas. He is accompanied on the cajon by percussionist Angel Sanchez "Cepillo", with whom he has already shared numerous jams and fiestas, notably in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Federico plays flamenco guitars made by his father José Toledano and himself.

The percussionist Ángel Sánchez González, alias Cepillo, has become one of the most important accompanists of the best flamenco musicians and shows of today. He was born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (province of Cadiz, Spain). Since his early years, he has played with flamenco, rock, jazz fusion and Brazilian musicians and bands. He regularly accompanies renowned artists such as Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Sanlúcar, Tomatito, Duquende, Carmen Linares, Rafael Riqueni, Esperanza Fernández, Vicente Amigo, Tino di Geraldo, Perico Sambeat, Michael Brecker, Renaud Garcia-Fons and Zakir Hussain, among others. Cepillo performs throughout Spain and appears in the best venues and festivals in Spain and abroad.
